I have a nest in a hanging planter outside my front door. The babies fledged about a week and a half to two weeks ago. I have not seen the mother or babies since, however there is an unhatched egg still in the nest. I gently turned it to check if it was cracked or just looked unhatched but it is whole. I don’t want to remove the nest until I am sure there isn’t any chance that it’s a late bloomer. Is there anyway to confirm that this egg is dead without harming it?
