The Mountain Chickadee RARELY visits my yard, although I do see/hear them quite frequently in the mountains which surround Salt Lake. This image was shot during a break in a snowstorm. In additon to the Chickadee, doezens of Cedar Waxwings, Starlings, Townsends Solitaire and American Robins converged on my hawthorn and juniper trees to fuel up on the berries. I count that afternoon as one of my top ten birding days EVER!
