As far as taking care of a bird afterwards, go with your instincts to make it most comfortable. I was advised by a professional to do so and I just released it after I brought it back to life basically. It needs a safe place and lots of love! It has been a beautiful experience that I will never forget!

She has been attacking the window over & over again, several times a minute, for over 8 hours straight as I write this. When will she learn? Will she ever eat? There’s a feeder about 40′ away, so maybe she does eat when I’m not looking, but she returns straight away to attack again.

It’s a nice big picture window, so I don’t want to cover it with screens and such. I hoped that turning on the ceiling fan & light would give her a clue that it’s not a path through, or another bird, but no luck yet. I also tried hiding inside but out of view with a boom and then using it to scare her away each time she attacked. That works for only a minute or two. Then as soon as I stop and go about my business, she’s back at it.

We haven’t had any dead birds because of window collisions, so maybe I’ll just let this one bang her brains out.

These are a curtain of fish lines that don’t block your view, but that birds see.
